Transfer your technical college certificate to Utah Tech

Beginning in Fall 2025, Utah Tech University will award technical college credits toward associate or bachelor’s degrees at Utah Tech University for students who have completed a certificate at one of Utah’s technical colleges. Students may be awarded up to 21 elective credits for a completed certificate from any of Utah’s technical colleges.

Credit Conversion

Students may receive elective credit for their completed certificate at a one-to-one ratio, up to the 21-elective credit maximum. Elective credits can be combined with direct course articulation in select programs up to 21 credits.

For example:

30-credit (900 hour) technical college certificates: 21 elective credits at Utah Tech

20-credit (600 hour) technical college certificates: 20 elective credits at Utah Tech

3

10-credit (300 hour) technical college certificates: 10 elective credits at Utah Tech

Already a Utah Tech student?

Contact your assigned academic advisor to discuss how your technical college credits may be used to complete elective or course requirements at Utah Tech. Once your advisor identifies the best use of your credits, they will contact the Registrar’s Office to ensure your credits are posted to your Utah Tech record.
